Bogus article. I don't buy that crap about companies being driven into the ground by naked shorting

Perhaps that reasoning is why they continue to get away with it?

It isn't always about whether the company can find funding ("Companies that have valid business plans can raise cash regardless of what their valuation is. You can even make a case that the lower the valuation, the easier it is to raise cash because new investors will get a larger percentage of the equity") but rather it should be IMO about the folks that paid good money for existing shares to find them decline significantly when others short non-existent shares i.e. naked shorting and why it is illegal.
