I agree with you that the TOS is a guideline and that there is a certain art to moderating a board successfully.
To me, however, that means allowing some friendly, off topic, non-inflammatory discussion.
I've just reviewed the posts deleted in the last 30 days and agree with all of the deletions. I don't see any that were "petty" removals.
Derogatory references to or about other Users and/or their motives for posting on the board should always be removed.
Unlike many other sites, we do enforce the TOS of this site. We do our best, with what's reported to us, to ensure that all Users are allowed to offer their opinion about the company (whether positive, neutral or negative) without being derided, personally, for holding that opinion.
The majority of the deletions on that board in the last 30 days have been appropriately removed due to their references/discussion of other Users.
