My Board is Being Boycotted Thanks to the Mod Policy

Perhaps the new mod policy has has some occasional successes, but it's been a disaster on my board, Petaquilla Minerals. What was once a thriving, active board hasn't had a single post in 72 hours because posters are fed up with the new mod. Although the new mod has followed the Handbook to the letter of the law, there is something to be said for discretion.

I took a great deal of pride in developing an informative board. I welcomed numerous new mods as interest and qualifications allowed. But allowing anyone who has made five posts on a board to rule the rest is simply insane. Maybe the most recent ban on my board is a clue to the "success" of the new mod policy ... he became a mod under the new policy and it took everything I had to keep the quality posters on my board from launching a coup ... now he's received the ban-hammer. Perhaps he never should have been a mod to begin with! He certainly wouldn't have been under the old mod policy.

The new mod hasn't made a single post since becoming a mod and spends her time simply deleting the posts of others. The new mod contributes nothing and has irritated the quality posters on the board to the point that most deletions are for complaints about moderation. They've all since moved to the StockHouse board.

iHub, it's your business to run into the ground if you choose to do so, but as one dedicated iHubber, I can tell you a long and sordid tale about how your new policy has run my board into the ground and driven away all of my fellow posters. I've even fielded posts by quality members who are begging to have their iHub account deleted.

If iHub is interested in getting new mods, then perhaps it would be better to deal with the few problematic mods who don't want asst mods, rather than allow anyone with a few posts and a power trip to become a mod.
