if they can obtain section 8 vouchers, some could pay that way. many could have to have a job lined up before they are released. ACYD wants to work with the groups that place the recently released, so they are the ones that actually set up housing and make sure the rent is paid in many cases. the ACYD model is to work with the groups "managing" the recently released, so they are collecting rent from them, not directly from the tenant.

other options are that some properties have government rental assistance tied to them. its not always for all the units, but sometimes it is for the majority of them. if ACYD obtains a multifamily property with rental assistance (RA), then all somebody has to do is qualify to get that RA, its all based on the income of the tenant.

the holding company part of the ACYD business model is to hold companies that these tenants could work for. in a perfect world, somebody could live in and ACYD property and work for an ACYD company. Folger discussed this last night when he said that they are looking to acquire businesses that operate in labor intensive fields, which would provide easy entry job opportunities for the people they are trying to work with.
