With the Momentus a user can set up an encrypted secure vault that just cannot be read by anyone unless they have the correct key. It is likely that other drive vendors will follow suit.
I wonder how many other hard drive manufacturers like Maxtor, Western Digital, Samsung, Hitachi, Fujitsu that Wave may me in discussions with.
Do you think the others will allow Seagate to be seen as the only Trusted hard drive that can encrypt?
It remains to be seen but I don't think the others will be left out in the cold.
