And the documention is abundant that there were cries to re-inforce the levees and the army corp of engineers were going to do it until Bush to help his drive to keep slashing taxes of the rich while building a massive federal deficit in the incompetent and wrong-headed and on false premises and lies pre-emptive money-pit of a war in Iraq, slashed the Army Corp of Engineers budget such that they could do nothing( they even had to cancel their annual Army Corp of Engineers picnic this year, they were so strapped)
It was the fundamental policy of a fallacious war and to take care of the rich that set-up this disaster.
How ugly the fact that as this disaster happened the Bush administration was preparing to call for MORE tax cuts on the rich and to go for zero taxation on estates.
How perfidious this horror in the WH, when to a victim in Mississippi to the question why spend all the money in Iraq but fail us said "We can do both, fight in Iraq and help you", when his own priorities allowed this situation to build that made New Orleans so vulnerable.
I stated in late 2002(as i was convinced Bush was going to invade Iraq, the decision had already been made, and the debate about this do we or don't we was all bogus drivel as they already were in preparation for the invasion of Iraq) that Bush will prove, in the end to be both the most incompetent POTUS in history, but, because he is a man of shallow depth and feeling, is evil also.
I will not withdraw my prophecy near 3 years old, that Bush and his supporters are leading this country to collapse.
I have detailed long back my reasons why if Bush serves 8 years our future is a horror.
I will not repeat any of my dissertations except to say they are unchanged.
I offer no hope as long as Bush is in the WH.
As for his strong, loud supporters on this thread; not one is worth communicating with, they are what they are and i care nothing for them.
