ATTN: The benefits of the free SheffStation DD & biotech trading blog.
Welcome to the $heff $tation in what has been a solid start to 2012.
The goal of this post is to welcome you to the board if your first time & educate you on what you can expect & learn here at the SheffStation. My readers and future readers have asked me to put together a post discussing the benefits of this blog. To start..I have been a biotech trader since 2000 but it was not until 2009 that things finally started to come together for me as a trader. You can see from my portfolio in my intro page. I started this thread on May 31st, 2007, so I will be celebrating 5 yrs here soon. I believe in helping everyone with solid information which is why I prefer IHUB to starting a subscription site where I charge readers a fee. The gratitude is much greater now as there is no expectation from my readers as the info is free to anyone.

We have several thousand lurkers who watch our board daily but don't sign into IHUB. I would imagine some of you are either new or are lurkers of our thread. Be sure to add/boardmark the $heff $tation board to your favorites!

#1 Updated Portfolio Balances with history dating back from 2009: One service of this board is that I try update my holdings & portfolio balances weekly on my Intro Page. I have balances from two different portfolios. The largest is that which started with $3,600 and has grown significantly since then. I hope this board is a sign that the market offers good opportunities to do well if you are a disciplined trader through solid DD. You don't have to be a "professional" trader or subscribe to high cost bio services for good biotech information.

To highlight posts from your Moderators...you click on their name...for example if you click on $heff..and then click on Add Person Mark...Another way is to click the link below as we have many newbies who do not know how to boardmark. The link below will help newbies to follow my posts. I only share this on my board and my members as this is the only board I post on! Now all of my posts will be highlighted for you as well as our other mods on this forum that you member-mark.

Boardmarking our board allows you to get our DD on stocks we follow and see our posts no matter what! I am on my board 100% of the time so you always know where to find me. We are here to offer trading strategies & not advice to tell you how to trade or what to buy & sell. Every trader has their own strategy so find yours & stick to it & own it. Everyone can see my board. I don't charge a dime here to see what I am doing. You can catch me here or there. When I tweet on Twitter with my board link it takes you directly to my board and does not block you out or ask for a password. People have access to my board & all my tweets 100% of the time for free. There is no trial run here. If you are paying a subscription fee to subscribe to a service that has some similarities to what we do here & are overpriced, then cancel it or strongly consider what you could be doing with that money. There is so much information out there that is free.

The free service links that allow you to get the information that others are getting to make you a better trader in biotech/pharma are below. You can gain ideas from there.

A FEW FREE BIOTECH LINKS WE USE HERE

BIOPHARMCATALYST: This is the best free PDUFA & Clinical FDA Calendar on the internet. It is always updated & full of information. I contribute financially to the site, on my own, because I appreciate the quality of the work. http://www.biopharmcatalyst.com

#2) Updated trades that go into the Intro Page daily pre or post market By popular demand I am posting trades at market close to give my viewers to get in at a better price. This does not create they hysteria/emotional trade that can occur mid-day without the proper DD being done. Saves & makes members more money. You asked for that and I provided it!

#3) Transparency…I have explained before that my site is the most transparent that my readers have seen & it is FREE. My readers state that I give them more info that they could ask for from a free site. I screenshot & post my balances with dates & times from Ameritrade & Wikinvest from 2 separate accounts. People can see all my trades in my Intro page & can see my balances updated in my accounts as they have grown since 1999. The history of the trades and the entry & exit is a key feature that everyone can see. I post the winners & the losers. Everyone makes their own choice about the number of shares that they buy in a company. People should do that based on their finances & not what I or anybody else does. Because I buy 10,000 shares of a company at $10 which is a certain % of my portfolio does not mean I want others to do the exact same thing with 100% of their portfolio. Again..if you want to know the exact amount of shares someone is in then you should go to a subscription service that charges you $500-$1,000 yr, so they can spoonfeed their trades to you. What you want to see is the history of those trades on a spreadsheet & not just the trade at the moment. You also want to see balance history. Again.. I provide that here for free!
The rule of the game on my thread is "singles" & "doubles" wins the game. You always live to trade another day. People here learn to assess their own level for risk tolerance. Transparency is posting the price & position of a stock you buy to more than only a select few who are your subscribers? Your service should be doing more than posting real-time trades if you & other members are paying $500/yr. You should be able to view your positions and see your balances on a weekly basis. I do that for free and post for two accounts. If you are paying a subscription fee the owner gets a double hit. They make money off their trading & their subscriptions. If they have a bad month, no worries as they still get paid with your subscription fee. If that is transparency where only a select few can see your trades & history then I don’t want it. You want transparency?? I have never taken $1 from any of my readers in the 5 yrs I have been a trader or doing my SheffStation blog…ever!! I have never made a book, DVD, T-shirt, underwear, or anything that I have tried to sell to my readers. That is transparency!! My readers know that I have no hidden ulterior motive for doing what I do in providing the service I do here or sharing my information because it is without a charge. My satisfaction comes from someone saying that a reader made money or that my board helped them in some way to be a better trader. By doing that it put more money in THEIR pocket and not mine. Remember…I have READERS & not MEMBERS. There is no membership required, personal information, credit cards, or personal information here. There is no 30 or 60 day trial run. There is not obligation for anyone on this board. Just show up & be part of the trading community. That simple!

What can $500-$1,000 buy you instead of subscription services?

1) An IPAD to make real-time trades from.
2) Contribution to your IRA
3) Course in how to be a better trader
4) The opportunity to buy good quality books on how to be a better trader yourself
5) Startup money for your own blog.
6) Weekend family trip
7) Tithe to your church (if you attend)

#4) REAL-TIME...Real Time (real world to me) is that most people work full-time & don’t sit in their underpants tweeting stocks all day. You here about “REAL-TIME” a lot from sub services to separate them from the free services in an effort to get you to buy what they are selling. Real-time means nothing and oftentime causes an unnecessary movement in a stock temporarily causing you to buy in higher or trying to get out lower. This is especially true if an alert is sent intraday during trading hrs. You don't have to pay $500-$1,00 yr to trade with folks or be part of a community. As folks on my thread and that follow me know, I don't post trades in "real-time" in 2012. Some of our readers got burned off my intraday alerts last year. I either do it after the market close or pre-market in my position grid on my intro page. Takes emotion out of people buying or selling when they can sit and process information. People on my thread know why I do that and an overwhelming majority requested that. There was a few times last year where my readers saw an alert post from me where I bought or sold a security. Many would either rush to buy the stock quickly or sell quickly on alert thinking there was negative news or something. My alerts were creating a an urgent need to either buy or sell ( as to not miss out) as people know a stock can move off of those alerts. I want people to have time to do their DD on a stock before they decide to purchase it or sell a stock. Some people were getting in too high on spikes & getting out too low. This was the exception rather than the rule but it still effected those people who could have done better on their trades had they had time to do their DD pre or post market. Irrational buying or selling is action without DD or doing your homework. Now I let people know what I am looking at or interested in from posts during the day. Stocks on “high alert” or stocks on “notice.” In 2012 there a lot less volatility in the stocks my readers are in. This way everyone gets the buys or sells on my board at the SAME TIME. That is fair for everyone here who are trying to be better traders. There is no subscription so alerting intraday when 80-90% of my readers are working does not make sense for me to do. Posting afterhrs does not change the outcome of the stock unless you are in for a quick day flip as 99% of the stocks we discuss are big board stocks and don’t have the crazy volatility. If you are a daytrader then getting intraday alerts work for you so you can flip in and flip out but we don’t have that here. Again…there a sub service might be better for you.

I am interested in making money & finding good plays...period. People here know they are responsible for growing their portfolios. People don’t leave here unsatisfied because there has never been a financial commitment. If I ever have a service, I know most of my readers will sign up as you know the type of success you have had trading here from the ideas & catalysts of many traders on this thread. We are here to help with trading strategies for our readers and we are some of the best traders you will find! The proof is in the Intro Page. $3,000 to $1.8m from 2009 to 2012. Screenshots from Wikinvest & Ameritrade account balances here posted since 2009. Updated portfolio balances & trades consistently! I even screenshot when I withdrawal ($heff Offering :)) money in my acct so people are not confused when the balance is off. We focus on our trades & the opportunities at hand. We talk about ways to make yourself a better trader & not other traders. This is a FREE forum for all traders not just a select few who are MEMBERS only. We have READERS here so all can participate. Leave your checkbook at the door. The posts from our members are solid & they are appreciated by all. Those go for the daytraders, non-daytraders, novices, & pros. We make my money trading just like you do and that is off of the market. There is no motive or need to sell you anything as we trade here right along with you. We have had a great start to 2012 & look forward to the coming months in Q2. Best of success as you follow our forum at the $heff $tation for solid trading strategies & opportunities! Best, $heff
