Hey I have an important question for Catz, Clawmann or anyone savvy person that can help. In 2009 I bought shares of Texaco they went bankrupt and gave a distribution to all shareholders. They send me a nice check but a year and a half later the broker said there was an error because I sold half my shares the day before they halted the stock and shares didn't settled right away. They want me to return half the money. Now my question is, Is it legal to do this after more than a year? Also what about if Texaco said whoever owned shares from this day to this day they get distribution? or last question. If the shares didn't settled until a few days later technically the shares were still mine? Is there any way I can fight the broker or am I sh it out of luck? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
