well we are back to cars again...i was talking about clothes...why cant we just stick to the subject?...sure everyone would want their cars to last longer...their houses...their money and a whole bunch of other things....

the question was, do we need our shirts and pants and jackets to last a whole lot longer than they do now?...i for one end up giving my clothes away long before they wear out...and judging from what is given away to goodwill, salvation army and the amount of yard sales and whatnot, it appears the answer is no..we do not really need to have those things last longer..

now socks perhaps could be an exception..

"Better is always better, and people always want better"

unfortunately that decision wont be up to the "people" as is usually the case...it will be up to the clothing manufacturers to determine if you will get better....when it comes to fashion and clothing, they pretty much decide what you are going to want...or at least what you will get to choose from...if they decide making clothing out of spider silk isnt waht they want, you will not be wearing any spider silk underwear...period..

"There is no reason spider silk shouldn't be comparably priced after the initial introduction"

so the clothing manufacturer will make the same amount of money but the clothing will last longer?...do you think that is what they want?....and why would a spider silk shirt be thought of as quality?..
