Unlimited voting. UNLIMITED VOTING. UNLIMITED VOTING!!
-- A peculiar, distinctive evolution started setting-in at around
the 6th-7th Season. (This trend started to become more influential and
profound at appx. that time.)
-- Increasingly, due to having Unlimited Voting, -- and given
the very essence, nature, and intrinsic genetic behaviour of men and women --
ATTRACTIVE, appealing (and at least SOMEWHAT talented) MEN started
garnering BOTH an increasing TOTAL NUMBER of votes AND VOTERS.
-- The demographics of the VOTERS have become increasingly skewed
toward tweenies, teen-agers, and cougars/mothers-of-tweens/teens.
-- This same group, or grouping, also casts MORE VOTES PER
CAPITA than say, men, teen-age men, fathers, even dirty, horny,
leering, and lecherous old MEN (who obviously would be voting
for females).
-- EXAMPLE:
a) 10 Voters, regardless of their demographic characteristics,
EACH cast (via any medium or device(s)) 10 VOTES for EACH
of
their FIVE most-favourite Finalists. 10 X 10 (Votes) = 100 Total Votes,
or 10 Votes for EACH of the chosen five Finalists, including Pia Toscano,
who of course, would have received a TOTAL of2 100 Votes.
b) 10 Voters having the demographic characteristics depicted
and described above, EACH cast (during the 2-hour voting
window)
50 Votes for EACH OF their TWO most-favored MALE
Finalists.
10 X 50 (Votes) = 500 Total Votes, or 50 Votes for
EACH TWO of the chosen two MALE Finalists, each of whom would
have received a Total of 500 Votes.
c) SO, in this example, PIA attracted 10 VOTERS who cast a Total
of 100 Votes for her.
d) A MALE Finalist...ANY male Finalist in this example, attracted
10 VOTERS who cast a Total of 500 Votes for him.
e) Pia, exemplary of any/all the Female Finalists, attracted 10
Voters...as did ANY of the Male Finalists...BUT THOSE MALE
FINALISTS -- PER CAPITA -- RECEIVED FAR MORE TOTAL VOTES.
f) Therefore the cruelest irony: Pia loses.
And so, truly tragically, and DESPITE the numerous and obvious
improvements -- especially in terms of talent -- IDOL ONCE AGAIN
BLOWS-It.
Because of Unlimited Voting coupled with inevitable, irreversible
demographics and evolutions in the behavior priorities and
patters of those demographics.
And so, IDOL has once again become less a Singing, or even Talent, Contest
and MORE a Popularity Contest to find America's cutest, hunkiest
Male Singer/Entertainer of at least modest talent and possessing
a modicum of performing ability.
