Intuitively I agree with your comments about the patents. In today's world it is impossible (for us) to discern what aspects of wave's IP are the most valuable. Not everything of value is patented in the first place and second it is tough to say the meter patent is the company just because it was the original concept. But also very importantly Wave's business and its relationships will not expire if and when any particular patent expires. And finally its revenue and valuation are not going to be held to pennies because of this question. Unless some new info emerges, I view this as a diversion and likely one of the issues the shorts will raise if and when Wave becomes successful.
