This reminds me of something that I stumbled across many moons ago. Have you or anyone else ever used secinfo.gov? I had once speculated that, because secinfo.com showed a name change ("Washington Mutual/Inc [ formerly Washington Mutual Inc ]"). In addition to this, there was some talk here a very long time ago about contacting the DTCC for a share swap to delineate who owned what shares, and that a name change would be the only way to actually force an actual swap of shares (instead of simply renaming the existing). While this is perhaps a shot in the dark, this website does indicate a name change....I still wonder why?
