Well spoken madclown. Sticking to the real DD, and presenting it in unadorned prose is infinitely preferable to the most recent attempts to harness the dormant Q's and create an artificial "Buzz" around them.

Folks that just throw out a ticker and some boilerplate comment are just wasting everybody's time.

Everybody has seen it. ABCD INC is "heating up!" or "bustin out!" or "short squeeze" or the ever popular "somebody knows something" (or some similar trash) Usually in caps or bold or both.

All we can do is try to present the cream of the best ideas with supporting documentation to be a starting point for folks to begin their own DD.

There are four simple points I mentioned in an earlier post and will repeat here, that I use to distinguish the garbage from the legitimate Q's. It's perhaps overly simplistic, and can miss stuff, but it's a starting point that weeds a lot of the garbage out.

The distinguishing points that ANY decent Q should have are:

1. An active reasonably current website.

Has the subject website "gone generic?" Does the website open? Does it open in the same name as the one I'm looking for?

2. A product or service they perform.

Does the subject Q have a means of producing income?

3. Recent news.

Has there been any news regarding that Q in the last 12 months?

4. Ongoing trading activity

Has there been "normal" type trading over the last 3-6 months or is characterized by extended "lulls" with no activity?

Exceptions to those simple points should be looked at with all due skepticism.

One should also be wary of private equity that continues to use some variation of the formerly public company's name.

Fleetwood (FLTWQ) is an example of that. Private equity essentially took them over and own the rights to the Fleetwood brand name.

They still generate news, but it's not regarding the formerly public company. Based on the remaining assets, I seriously doubt old Fleetwood has the capacity to manufacture a tent LoL!

There are exceptions when patents, law suits, and intellectual property are involved. Sometimes too, a phoenix rises from the remaining assets of a gutted company, but those are rare. In that case, there will usually be some news still generated, or reasonable trading activity.

The four points above will distinguish an active reasonably viable Q from the dormant shells just waiting for (pump prior to) cancellation.

If we can collect any basic links in the announcement of the Q to the board that substantiate why we think it's a good play, that distinguishes us from the P+D crowd and provides a service to all.

GLTA !!
