SEBASS...RE: why do we need this?
I know it sounds ridiculous to some people like this Bruce Elbert, but, you've got to remember the Big Guys like Verizon, SBC, MCI, Charter, etc only endorse mainstream technology that is WORKING...and they have the access to money to put up towers and run cable IN THE US. GTEL is primarily looking abroad to find cheaper ways to facilitate broadband internet access (among other things) in remote areas where internet access technology is still 5-10 years behind us and the highly developed nations in the world.
Besides, we all have to be aware that if the STRAT does indeed prove to offer a cheaper alternative to what the BIG GUYS are doing, don't you think they just might want to buy the technology to KEEP IT FROM BECOMING A REALITY.... so their infrastructure of hardware can continue to satisfy needs at higher but stable prices! These guys are public companies and have shareholders they also have to cater to. Hmmmmmmm?
