"The design of the hangar enables it to be dismantled, transported, and re-assembled. The Company believes its investment in this portable, yet substantial, new asset will provide the immediate benefit of a dedicated Sanswire workspace during its push to complete and demonstrate systems-integrated products."

I've been in aviation for 35+ years. Never have I heard of a "hangar" that is measured in cubic feet. However.....

I can't find the exact dimension of the STS-111 in the "white paper" on the website....but figuring the craft is 111 feet in length (I believe) we can figure one parameter to be 120 (L or W). I don't know how wide or tall it is but I can't see it being much over 20 feet tall or wide. So....figure the hangar space needed to house such a vehicle would be (ROUGHLY) 120' X 50' X 30'. That would equate to 180,000 feet/Cu.

I don't know what this "hangar" is made out of but you can bet it's nothing substantial. I would guess probably along the lines of those "blow up" structures I've seen in the past that held tennis courts. An inflatable structure that is held up by an air pressure slightly greater than ambient.

I thought that one of the selling points of the Strat was that it didn't need any infrastructure to launch? Didn't I read that in a past PR ? That it could be moved around in a pick-up like truck and launched from a field without needing any structure to build it up in?

"In addition to being an ideal showroom to house our airships for the upcoming demonstration in Maryland, the hangar's modular construction will enable us to move swiftly in setting up for potential testing and demonstrations in various locations. "

Why do they need it if one of the selling points is that a hangar isn't needed to use it?

At any rate, these things have been done before. Her'sa link to something that is probably close to what they are getting.

I keep telling myself....deep breath....count to ten....try to answer without personal attack...if available, always try to present fact to back up your opinion.
