I am considering taking Linux Mint 9 (Gnome 757MB) through its paces on my laptop. I downloaded it and burned it using InfraRecorder (writer imaged) on a DVD.

Is it better (safer) to boot off the DVD via F12 or partition the drive and install it?

Is it even a good idea and worth it?
