Tommy, shareholders directly benefit when financials are reported. Remember that earnings per share is calculated by dividing the company's profit by the number of shares outstanding. If the lender receives fewer shares then there is a good chance that the EPS will be higher all other things remaining equal such as Dean doesn’t increase the O/S for other reasons.
