Doesn't seem like a very insurmountable chore, since Broadcom advertises its developers kit:
Broadcom offers software development kits (SDK) enabling developers to create applications that can access the services of the Unified Security Hub device and expose the capabilities to applications running on the host computer. The SDK includes application programming interfaces, security services, sample applications, installation utility, host drivers and documentation to aid with development.
Not to deminish Waves work, just that it doesn't seem like such a chore as to keep others from competing. Have you any info re: Wave's cost to engineer Broadcom's/DELL's interface?
