With 68w Athlon 64 vs. Prescott power difference in idle mode x 24 hours, that's 1.6KWh/day or $10/month per PC in Southern California at homeowner marginal electric rates ($0.20). Business rates are up to 20% higher.

Add more $$$ to take away the heat, and over a 4-year PC lifetime, you're talking about over $600.
