Screening is a defite(sp) topic we should discuss at some point.

Why "at some point"? Is not now as good a time as any? We are entering the summer slowdown. Activity is slowing everywhere. Would not NOW be the perfect time to exchange ideas in order to be better prepared come the fall when things pick up?

for the "actions speak louder than words department" I'll start with the following;
1. Before you can create a screen you must know what output is desired. The screen for potential short sells will be decidedly different from a screen for long term buys.
2. You must decide what price range you wish to explore first the other parameters can be greatly affected by the selected price range. (there aren't many multi-biliion dollar marketcaps selling for less than $5!).
3. Review your successful picks to develop a successful screen. (what do your winners have in common and find other stocks with the same qualities.)

This kind of information is much more useful than merely posting one's selections (or rejections). By exposing one's parameters, improvements may be suggested and variations that are more successful can be found.
