Excess cash, vealies, etc. My opinion on what to do with excess cash is dependent on what the investment vehicle is, that is being AIMed. If it's a speculative stock, and you have had the good fortune to have experienced a good runup, I believe you should take some chips off the table. If your initial cash position was, say 30% of the portfolio, you might want to remove cash anytime the ratio exceeds 30%. This money could be used to set up another AIM portfolio in the future, or placed in a more conservative investment. Many hot stocks crash and burn, and never return to their former glory.

On the other hand, if the investment is a diversified mutual fund, ETF or CEF, you might want to use a vealie to reinvest in that or another such fund.
