The question was not whether or not you had ever shorted a stock on someone's recommendation.

The question was had you ever profited from the manipulation of a stock being manipulated by a shorting consortium.

And once again your answer, though long winded, evades that question.

Further, in my own experience, regardless of the topic "bashers" can be just as active in flaunting the rules as "touts".
By implying that one group is more noble, more likely to abide by the rules than another, your prejudice is revealed.

Lastly, you have not been nor would you be asked to "swear" off selling a stock short. To make such a request would be the definition of stupidity. However, what is such a big deal about swearing not to do an illegal thing? I wonder if there would have been any difficulty getting you to swear never to participate in a pump and dump?
