CharleyMike,

I appreciate your remarks. I would like to clarify one thing though, when "grandfathering" was first conceived of it was also presented that members who were about to be grandfathered should consider supporting IH with a little more than their keyboards. Specifically, JXM suggested that Matt provide a way for members to submit a real bona fide payment to IH. In what was a very rare occurrence, I agreed with JXM. Matt provided a means to pay IH and I was among the first to do so. At the time we were grandfathered certain statements were made concerning the future "benefits". It appears that since Bob assumed control some of that has gone by the wayside.
You became a "lifetime" member yesterday. In my recollection I did so almost a year ago. Yet despite "assurances" from Bob that grandfathered members "who had already financially supported IH" would be treated differently when the subscription system was in place. Though nothing specific was detailed, at the very least it was expected that Bob would deduct the amount already contributed from the price of a lifetime membership. Alas, there has been no word from management of this topic. Coupled with Bob's obvious disdain for my (and others) presence here at IH as evidenced by his own words and Matt's failure to properly administrate the site since Bob's takeover...the burr under my saddle is I'm feeling "taken" in more ways than one. Many of the folks I enjoyed reading and exchanging with have departed or curtailed their activity here since Bob announced he was back and "in charge". They have been replaced by persons I'd prefer never to have heard of. There are still some good people here at IH. People that understand posting is a privilege, not a right. People that don't take what they post lightly or respond flippantly to serious questions.
Your post regarding Grandfathers privileges did ruffle my feathers, and for all you know I could be lying about having made a payment last August. At the time I considered it a worthwhile investment. it seems now though that it may be closer to money flushed down the toilet. This is where the issue of "trust" comes into play. In August 2001, I could trust IH management enough to financially support it even though it wasn't required. Should my having done so earn me special treatment? NO, and I am not asking for such. Do I think that track record for over a year should earn be special treatment? NO, and again that is not what I ask for.
Do I believe that as a human being I deserve respect and equal consideration as an upstanding, contributing member of this site?

You're DAMN right I do! (sorry Mom)

And as long as management refuse to treat me with that level of respect I will treat them with an equivalent level of disrespect. I will point out every flaw and mistake and cheat I can ferret out. I will hold them accountable for these things publicly whether they like it or not.
I am not merely "somewhat cranky" over a perceived slight. I am livid over the fact it took four days and numerous complaints from other persons to remove pornographic references so gross that I had to tell my mother she didn't want to know what they meant. I am angered that good people have left this site because management would do nothing to protect them or allow them to protect themselves from unwanted contact from certain individuals, and that managements reason for this is because "I" was in favor of it so they shot it down. I am angered because I am "looked down on" as a "grandfathered" member even though I paid long ago.
If Bob or Matt or anyone else thinks I am foolish enough to pay MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE for a lifetime membership to put up with the feces dished out by those I've dubbed "The Posse", then those folks need to remove their cranial structures from Bob's rectal orifice and view the world in a new light.
