Jonesie - Read it anyway you want. The courts can render a verdict on a patent which can be over turned by the patent office, as the patent office has precedence over patents and the courts have precedence over the rule of law such as infringement.

Search some more till dooms day - if you read enough court cases you will find that to be true.
