But you can't sit there and tell me that anybody who hasn't been drafted/engaged in military combat doesn't know what reality is...

You are right. I didn’t mean for you to interpret the statement about being in combat like that….. It was just another example of “reality”.

Now that you are older, you may want to try to join the service once again. I was in the Army and most all I ever learned in there was “basic and advanced soldier skills” and how to survive in a combat environment. I shot some really "neat" weapons while I was in there, but never learned any skills that I could apply to any everyday job. Maybe I could have been on a "SWAT TEAM"....no not me. I had enough shooting in the Army to last me forever....to this day, I don't even like guns...they scare me, as I have seen first hand what damage they can do.

I would recommend the Air Force, or even the Navy. Both of these branches have excellent technical MOS’s that you could get into. Both branches are always looking for good skilled “computer people”.

You sound like you have “spunk” and ambitions in life, most young people your age today don’t have much of, or any “spunk” or ambitions. Like you said they are begging dad for $20 for beer money and looking for a handout.

Good luck young man, as you will need it in this corrupt world that we live in…….
