JimLur: understood. This is why I can't see "much" happening until NOK is resolved. NOK will not be resolved until arb is completed in 2005.

NOK has no incentive to settle--no penalty for screwing IDCC
for years of not paying

IDCC has no incentive to settle--they will only lose money, because NOK probably wants to pay them substantially less than what is owed.--NOK is losing marketshare...hence it might be better for IDCC to hang on and get as much as it can for 2G.

Yes...and why would any company sign and pay IDCC now?? Why would IDCC give any type of concessions to get a licensee that may harm them with the NOK arb??

But we do have NEC, Sharp and Sanyo!! And IDCC can withstand waiting only a few months more....IDCC position and balance sheet is getting stronger and stronger by the day.
