whitelake, Your approach of "keeping it simple" and upfront and honest manner to present who you are and what you can do will help your "small venture [to] survive" and obtain both a decent income and job satisfaction to benefit your family.
re: http://www.pchousekeeping.com Welcome to PcHousekeeping Website Design "... we evolved to be 95% web development and 5% PC tune up."
From my eMachine (Windows XP)
Using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 I noticed about a screen full of empty lines on your home page when I scrolled downwards from the initial display.
Using latest Opera browser without Java, lots of blank areas.
Using Netscape 6.2, only 1/4 page of empty lines at bottom.
I don't know how active you are on iHub here, but you could include your pchousekeeping.com link onto your profile page, as I'am sure its o.k. by Matt & Bob to do this.
Goes to his http://www.dogonow.com which is a good example of a NOT "keep it simple" as I have told farmer J. Buck :o)
Proof: On his web site is the following introduction:
"A double-right click from anywhere on your computer launches the DoGoNow search window."
But NOPE, that is not what DoGoNow does.
Anyway, with Google so easy to enter, no ones needs another "search window" especially many browser have an automatic link to Google.
But DoGoNow is NOT a "search window" as farmer J. Buck lets all that arrive at his site, says. Nope its a really nice and NEEDED ..... but like all farmers, and I know farmers, they don't listen to anyone but themselves :o)
