There is no way Drake could legally set up equipment and start mining operations without an approved permit. To date Drake hasn't sent in an application for a permit. There is absolutely no provision in Georgia Mining Law that permits are not require until product is sold.
I asked about Drake's statement that they could produce as much as 100,000 gal/ per day from a water well w/o a permit. She said this was true.
I also asked about Drake claiming they could sell excess sand and gravel . I said I doubted this was a completely honest claim to make before they had even submitted a reclamation plan. She said that some times miners are required to restore the site to near original condition but could include leaving a lake in the pit. In either case, claiming the sale of excess sand and gravel before a restoration plan has even been submitted is premature.
She said that in best case situations, a surface Mining Permit could be issued in about 90 days. She was surprised that Mike would have left the impression that 90 days was typical. She said that 6 months to a year was more likely, if the Corps of Engineers didn't get involved. The Co can assume authority, in some cases, when surface water is involved. In that case it could take as much as two years. ( Drake has said there are streams ( plural) on site.)

My main problem with the way Drake and their loyal supporters are promoting the Georgia site is they are making it sound like it is all going to happen very quickly. Drake uses "immediate" and "as soon as possible" to leave the impression that production will be happening very soon. One poster frequently closes his posts with a variation of "production will happen sooner than we think."
Think about this. We were old the equipment would be shipped from Thailand "as soon as possible". That was three weeks ago. How long to crate equipment? Two weeks? Four to six at sea. As soon as possible would put the equipment in Georgia by early
March. Yet a permit hasn't even been applied for.
