I prefer to pay off my credit card bills every month, to having a debit card. If you have a problem with a merchant there is no protection with a debit card. Also, no rebates with debit cards. Granted its not a great deal of money but it adds up for us spendy types.

Debit cards are great for those who have problems handling credit though.
