Program trading came in at 35% last week. Of course we know it was really twice that at 70%. I haven't been following it much but decided to compare some numbers from previous years. Once they changed the way they look at program trading numbers the old reports no longer appeared with the new press releases on the program trading page. I contacted the media rep at NYSE and she told me that I could find them in NYSE news release archives. Yep, they were there. You had to weed through all the other press release, but they were there. They WERE there. Today I see that all the old, pre-new calculation program trading reports have been removed. Hmm....

You know I have been talking about program trading now for years. I wonder why nobody with any media attention finds that 70% of all trades being in program trades worrisome?
