gfp: I think at this level in the stock market you want to be as safe as possible. That used to mean Treasuries, but those come with low yie4lds offset by inflation, and there is a slight default risk. I still think we can learn lessons from the previous stagflation era of the late 1970s - early 1980s. Hard assets, including energy. Precious metals. And if you want to own general equities you want solid names with a history of never cutting their dividend. Ideally those not tied to discretionary consumer spending. Own the providers of the necessities of life like water and electric utilities. Boring, but they will hold up while providing a yield at least as high as Treasuries if not higher. Be defensive.
