Curious, what amount of settlement would you expect from the defendants?
Do you expect $500M, $1B or something more?
I doubt they could get more than $100-$250M in a settlement. That would bode well for future cases but if they go to trial and win it will be appealed for years. I don't see an end in sight. I bought last year thinking the trial would be in July. Now the trial is Aug of this year. Still nothin on the rocket docket. My guess and it is from a realistic investor is the actual trial will be delayed at least another year and maybe longer. The defendants have no reason to go to trial and have a million motions to file to attempt to move it out further.
Trust me, I have a couple million shares and I am holding for now. But as the trial gets closer I am out if the stock finally runs. My questions is will Barbara and Dennis be forced to stop selling as the trial gets closer. If they are selling as the trial grows close I am out. But no matter what if it runs to $.05 or more I will sell at least half my stake.
I am cynical, I don't believe a word I hear from this company. I will be in the show me camp before I believe something good is happening. For now there is no panic in the defendants. I suspect this drags on for many more years. The only hope is Albright does something to force an end to this. To date his rocket docket nickname is not holding up at all. If this goes a few more years the share could will move from 3 billion shares plus Emil's 2B warrants to double that. In 23 the share count increased over a million shares and Emil's warrants increase 667M. the only hope is the jury and judge really punish the defendants as they drag it out. The punitive damages need to happen. A trial in Aug that end in a $1B verdict plus treble damages for the delays. And a warning that the amount increases if the trial is appealed and the drug out additional years. A massive award might force a settlement.
Personally I doubt seriously that big tech is just going settle for billions. My guess is a few hundred mill in total would be the maximum amount offered and that would be all parties combined. But only time will tell. But remember, time is money. We could be diluted another 20%+ in 2024 and every year after.
I am getting out as soon as possible and I will never look back.
