Interesting. I’ve been on Vascepa about 5 years. My insurance company (Aetna Medicare Advantage) doesn’t cover generic (at least this year)

I can’t take a statin, but in any event, my LDL was less than 100 last year for the first time ever.

I’m wondering if you (or anyone else here) has noticed BP improvement on Vascepa? I’ve been on 3 drugs the last 3 years or so and until recently still borderline. Moreover, the side effects have been unwelcome, especially Carvedilol. A few months ago I began seeing consistently low numbers (less than 100) and having some light headedness issues. My doc agreed to cut the dose of Carvedilol in half. A month later, BP still low. She said cut Carvedilol in half again. Still. Ok after a couple weeks. Might be able to get off it entirely. Carvedilol is actually a heart failure drug but often used for hypertension. It reduces adrenaline output for one thing and really messes with your energy level. I’ve been feeling much better as dose has gone down.

Regarding HDL, avoid going too high.
