So, I've been on VASCEPA since June 2014. My Provider (TriCare) has covered VASCEPA all this time ($9/month). On June 8th I visited my doctor and had my standard lipid panel done:
TC 157, TG 114, HDL 51 and LDL-c 82
VASCEPA Rx written DAW "medically necessary." TriCare comes back and says they won't cover it without a PA. Doctor changes Rx for generic VASCEPA (Dr. Reddy's). I got new labs yesterday: (BTW I'm also on Livalo, and BP med.)
TC 152, TG 215, HDL 51, LDL-c 67.
Son of a B! Looks like I'll be back on VASCEPA. Been hanging by the phone to hear my doctors voice!
