The intersection of the price and demand curves which formes the price is specific for identical products or services.....theoretically.
No immediate problem if they set the price right for this new product.
But the barrier will be higher for a first purchase and indeed sales can be expected to be lower.
Especially with clones being around.
Personally I think competition is good but not for a sitting Duck like ours.
