Who cares WHY Whelan let the patents expire? The fact is that she DID let them expire which means the company has no protected IP and therefore negligible assets. Furthermore, they broke the law by allowing collateral on an outstanding loan to dissolve. Who is speculating as to WHY she let them expire, other than you?

The lack of patents doesn't stop any of BIEL's distributors from selling. What it DOES stop is BIEL suing anyone for patent infringement if they want to design their own packaging and sell the device without paying BIEL a penny. The Chinese manufacturer will sell in bulk to anyone.

Are you saying that you and others knew back in 2021 that the patents had expired, but never breathed a word of it? The topic of the patent extension to 2029 has come up a couple of times since 2021, but nobody bothered to mention that the extension is moot because there are no patents?

Every mechanical device has an operational lifespan. That's not the question. The question is: if they can't sell enough of the disposable device to make a profit, how in the world will they sell enough of a longer-lasting device at a higher price to make a profit? The assumption is that raising the price of the technology will generate more sales -- going against the law of supply and demand?
