Gary I value your posts and knowledge, however the computers execute what the humans program them to do and I have no doubt the parameters are derived from the human input.

I can picture the equivalent of the human input being something equivalent to:

Increase/decrease the share price by X and accomplish it within Y time period within Z volatility and M/m maximum and minimum share price increments.

Imo, both MMs and big trading firms have the means to “program trade” and have advantages while so executing, such as speed and data access. The MMs could have additional imo unfair advantages given they are pairing and executing the trading.
