fried chicken is good for you when you don't have a choice about what you can eat. It's really tasty too. 
Not sayin' every day but some good southern pan fried chicken will not hurt you. Some good veggies and maybe a small potato or two will not hurt. It's great!
You can pick off the breading if you want, but the chicken is still there.
