Could be worse. You could be cheering for the NY team in the other league! The Braves are the only NL team to show their true colours to date, though the Dodgers have come on a bit over the past couple of weeks. Other than those 2, the NL is a dog's breakfast. Pittsburgh, Arizona? Maybe. But more likely a slide to .500 as the grind of 162 games exposes the lack of depth. Even my Brewers are fading into the no-offense team they've been for 5+ years. IMO, the Cards are still the favorites in that division, especially when they fire their manager.
You certainly don't need to win the division in MLB anymore to go deep in the playoffs, you just have to get there with a healthy roster. 5-7 games over .500 might be enough in the NL to get it done.
