Seems like generics really shot themselves in the foot and Amarin in the heart by getting Judge Du to wipe those patents away too soon. Instead of letting Amarin spend six or seven years promoting Vascepa and growing the market to 10 times its current size (or more), the generics jumped in too early, leaving them to cannibalize each other's sliver of a relatively small market. Wouldn't generics rather have 50 percent of a $2 billion market five years from now than 40 percent of a tiny market now?
