Respectfully disagree. While the analysis by itself does not carry much weight, it reinforces previous trials that found that higher levels of EPA reduce MACE. Pretty much confirms the RESPECT-EPA trial as both groups had low LDL and TG levels yet both showed when levels of EPA increased risk reduction followed.

This same analysis was done with the STRENGTH trial which also used corn oil as a placebo and Nissan found no benefit with higher EPA levels. I believe my last post I had referenced an article by Dr. Sears stating he felt the STRENTGH trial failed due to the type of O3 used which he felt was prone to oxidation. In my opinion, I feel the question to ask here is not why did REDUCE-IT succeed, but why did STRENGTH fail? Unfortunately we will never know that answer.
