Spoofing is a criminal act. If I were the lawyers for the defendants, I would recommend my clients not drag this civil suit out, just financially settle quickly. If they dispute the claims, then it means legal discovery. It means deposition of employees, which could lead to whistleblowers, which could lead to Department of Justice and SEC looking into this huge money machine conglomerate. Why do I guess a whistleblower? Because defendant's only defense if the DOJ gets involved is to have a scapegoat be the sacrificial lamb. Everyone who is a potential scapegoat is a potential whistleblower.
