What you state is plausible; however, you need in place more than just production resources. You need business, distribution and sales resources as well. And there's been no "marketing & sales" exec hired to manage or strategize those aspects. A partnership would certainly address those items... and if that's the plan it's already in place (and unannounced). However, it would seem that a buyout would be difficult to prevent.
