All you say is true, but I believe that there are other possibilities that can work as well, namely with the right strategic alliances NWBO can profit nicely from the efforts of others. I believe that CRL could very possibly handle the demands for the vaccine in much of the world, they already have the cryogenic capability, the ability to fill, store and handle the vials of vaccine, what's lacking, sufficient FlaskWorks units to make the vaccine and that the company could supply. Advent working out of Sawston could certainly handle the U.K. and perhaps beyond that. In short, with alignment with the right companies NWBO itself need not grow dramatically.
In many multi level marketing companies it's described as profiting from the acts of others. I believe that if the choice is having the likes of CRL and Advent doing most of the work and profiting from all they do, it's not a bad business model. St. Gobain's Glass will no doubt be thrilled to produce all the disposable cassettes needed as production ramps up with initially hundreds of FlaskWorks unit, ultimately growing into thousands and perhaps tens of thousands of units or more as DCVax-L and later Direct are determined to have benefits in many different solid cancers.
I cannot tell you how the FlaskWorks units are being manufactured, I don't believe the company has revealed if it's all being done by outside contractors, or if components are purchased but final assembly and testing is done in house. When you purchase a new car you have no idea how many different companies made the parts of what you're driving, you know that it does, or doesn't meet all your demands. The same would be true of the FlaskWorks units, it doesn't matter if it comes from one, or many different companies or whether NWBO has anything directly to do with its assembly, as long as its proven to be of the quality necessary to make the vaccine no one will care who actually made it.
I have little doubt that 5 years from now the FlaskWorks unit will be identical to today's unit. Perhaps some changes will be back fit into all existing units, others won't need to be. The point is that improvements can be made and approved for use and NWBO will still own the patents to the technology regardless of who's making it for them, or if they're manufacturing it themselves. No telling how many other personalized products that may be developed that utilize the FlaskWorks developed units, perhaps modified to suit the application, where NWBO is being paid for products produced purely by others which they had no involvement with the product development.
I'm not saying that this is the way it will go, they could be bought out or partnered as many suggest, I'm just suggesting that there are many possibilities to consider and some of them don't really require a great deal of increased staffing, but they do achieve tremendous income production by utilizing the acts of others. The others will profit nicely as well, it can be a win-win proposition for all, and the shareholders in NWBO can be tremendous winners.
