Rosemount - It's very simple actually. 15 years ago or so, the corporatist healthcare cartel decided to make it too difficult to survive as a private practice. The establishment dangled carrots in front of Doctors in the form of high salaries, no overhead, full benefits, vacation pay, shift work. It got so that Doctors, who used to have competitive appetites for achievement and recognition, turned into punch clock, early home for dinner, and self indulgent kind of folks, who couldn't be bothered to keep up with new medicine. They had the centers of indoctrination and their group think peers to have their information refreshed. They don't make them like the overachieving medical lineage I come from. I've seen what obsessive dedication and perfectionism applied to patient care looks like, and today's Doctors, frankly SUCK! Sure you have decent ones. But, unless you really love medicine, and have the single minded empathy to deliver the best care, please do something else for a living. That's my answer to your question.
