Endurance of Induced Prophylaxis

The P1 study found the half life was short as in like 4 hrs. The primary metabolite had a much longer half life.

Thank you; important information from the Phase 1 study.

The question yet remains, to be answered in murine studies, would spaced-out dosings of blarcamesine, at low dosages actually provide prophylaxis? Worthy of testing is the hypothesis that very low doses, taken at lengthy intervals (say, once every Monday) might actually be, over time, prophylactic. Although the half-life of the molecule might be 4 hrs, its promotion or facilitation of normalized cell physiology might well be enduring. The real question is not the half-life of the drug; rather, the half-life (or endurance) of any induced prophylaxis. Two different things.

(I'll bet Anavex, from murine studies, has a handle on all of this. Might have allowed Dr. Missling to make his off-hand comment about eventual prophylactic uses of blarcamesine.)
