I think there is a possibility Lilac is the target acquisition.
When GM made his trips to the Salton Sea he went there to negotiate for the merger and to see the technology firsthand. If CTR is the site he visited then Lilac's technology was what he saw. We might think he is negotiating with CTR, which is a possibility because it is a private company, but Lilac is in Oakland. Why not go to Oakland to negotiate? No need to travel the extra miles when the technology is in your backyard.
So in regards to DS's comments in the interview, it is still possible that Lilac is interested in going the lesser route.
I can agree that we can speculate on this until we turn blue because we won't know until next week.
