I actually have seen many bios make ridiculous predictions of 1 to 2 years to be off by many years, usually more in the 6-7 year range. It is unfortunate, but the expectations of corporate people frequently do not match the realities of universities and researchers.

Sycophantic excuse-making has not served the shareholders of this company well at all, and yet it continues to this day, every single day. I am convinced a different breed of shareholder, not the groveling excuse-making kind, could have propelled this company to success years ago. But, alas, it is far past too late now. The one shareholder who could have held management's feet to the fire was forced out some years ago, so now, the excuse-making will reap what it has sown: management that jets away to its island chateaus leaving a disaster in their wake, while common shareholders see their hard-earned dollars and years of loyalty evaporate into thin air. Ah, yes, keep those excuses coming. It's all you've got.
