PQR - First, I am sorry that I didn't reply to your private chat, but I am cheap and will not pay for that functionality simply because I don’t see that it is worth much more than the free alternative. After we make our doe soon, we should meet up and discuss the idea some more. I have a lake property south of KZOO, so it wouldn’t be too hard to do in summertime. One of my investing friends lives near you.

Second, I have done well on my one rental property and honestly can’t tell you why we never pulled the trigger on more, especially when we clearly had bottomed in residential real estate and were low for a long time. If you hire a good property manager, you make easy money without doing anything. I am going to have to reconsider and talk with my wife soon. I was thinking starter home, but you say higher end , huh? My uncle has apartments and sings their praises too. Seems like more work and more headaches to me.

I see healthcare REITS as a very similar investment with a very similar risk reward equation, especially private equity if you can find them. Right now the only one my buddy can offer me is in nursing homes which is currently the only bad bet it healthcare, generally speaking IMHO. I do have MPW and am waiting for a dip to buy more, but the trading piece of a public stock-based REIT changes the equation too. I kind of want to divorce money from the stock market and that sentiment game.

If anyone knows how to get into the dialysis market, please share. This is going bananas and will continue to do so as the baby boom ages. It may just bankrupt Medicare before anyone notices. Bananas
