Thanks for your response. I did get ahold of Berkshire and Wells Fargo, but hit a dead end. It seems like I will have to push Merrill to do more.
As far as why. If you have to sell one A share but you only need 100k or so, you can be liable for a lot of capitol gains taxes (Depending on a lot of other things) Especially in retirement when you can sell incrementally if you owned B shares instead of A shares. This may be more important if the Biden tax increases go through.(Nothing political here, just what may happen)
